Statuette Sensors

Temperatures and fan speeds for the App Store version of Statuette.

Why a separate helper?

Apps from the Mac App Store run in Apple's App Sandbox, which does not allow reading the Mac's hardware sensors. Statuette Sensors is a small, free companion app that runs outside the sandbox, reads the sensors, and shares them with Statuette. Without it, Statuette still shows CPU, memory, disk, network and battery; with it, the Temperature and Fans cards light up.

It has no window or menu bar item, uses well under 1% CPU, reads sensors only, and never touches the network.

Install

Four steps. One, the downloaded Statuette-Sensors.zip in the Downloads folder. Two, the same folder after double-clicking the zip, now holding the Statuette Sensors app. Three, the app in the Applications folder. Four, Statuette's panel showing its Temperature card filled in.
  1. Unzip the download and drag Statuette Sensors to your Applications folder.
  2. Open it once. Nothing visible happens: it starts in the background and adds itself to your login items so it is always available.
  3. Open Statuette. The Temperature and Fans cards appear within a few seconds.

The app is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens without security prompts.

Remove

Quit it and drag it to the Trash. To stop it from launching at login first, run in Terminal:

"/Applications/Statuette Sensors.app/Contents/MacOS/StatuetteSensors" --login-item=off

Or remove it under System Settings › General › Login Items & Extensions.

Verify the download

Each release lists the SHA-256 checksum of its zip. Compare with:
